In partnership with Sydney Olympic Park Authority, Accessible Arts is delighted to announce Sharon Degeling as the talented artist selected for the four-week residency extended to NSW and ACT artists with disability or who are d/Deaf. 
With a background in education, Sharon currently runs The Art and Craft Room from her studio in rural NSW, delivering workshops in both art and craft practice. Her own practice includes free motion sewing, as well as the incorporation of printing techniques and dyeing fabrics. This residency at the heritage-listed Newington Armory will provide a unique opportunity to work on her project ‘Invisible Illness’.

The Disability and Access Trainer is casual position responsible for delivering a range of training workshops surrounding disability and access. Our Disability and Access Consultants work with a range of clients to assist them in making their programs and services more inclusive and accessible

The Next Level Creative Mentorship Program will provide five (5) artists with access to a mentorship within a leading performing arts organisation and $5000 in project funding to develop an innovative new project. The successful applicants will receive up to 20 hours of one-to-one support from a selected staff member within our Partnering Organisations.

Writers, musicians, dancers, choreographers, actors, directors, and/or producers with disability or who are d/Deaf from NSW are invited to apply for this exciting opportunity.

Applications are now open for the 2022 Accessible Arts and Sydney Olympic Park Artist-In-Residence Program. This valuable residency will provide creative and career development for an artist with disability or who is d/Deaf from NSW or the ACT.

The opportunity comprises a four-week residency for research and development or for the creation of new work at the heritage-listed Newington Armory from 7 February to 7 March 2022.

Eight applicants who identify as both a person with disability and/or d/Deaf as well as culturally and linguistically diverse/person of colour will be selected for this exciting opportunity to gain valuable insights into the arts and cultural sector, whilst forming connections as emerging creative sector workers.
