Congratulations to the Artists Selected for our 2023 Bundanon Residencies

Congratulations to the talented artists selected for the 2023 Accessible Arts and Bundanon Trust Residency Program: Kath Harding, David Molloy, Dani Pearce, Catherine Rogers and Madeleine Stewart.

The Bundanon Trust Artist-in-Residence program is the largest of its kind in Australia, making it highly sought after by artists nationally. For the last six years, Accessible Arts has partnered with the Bundanon Trust to present an annual residency program for artists with disability or who are d/Deaf. The residencies will take place from 16 – 22 October 2023 and will make a big difference for these five talented artists.

ArtScreen 2023 Artists Announced

We are delighted to announce the two talented artists selected for ArtScreen 2023 are Sofya Gollan and Guy Morgan. 

Each artist will create a new video artwork which explores themes of identity, access and social connectedness to be screened at the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia in December 2023. They will each receive $13,000 in grant funding towards the production of their work and undertake a professional mentorship with an experienced video artist. An additional $9,500 of in-kind production support is available from our partnering organisations Bus Stop Films and A.C.E.

Due to high demand, we’re presenting two more Advance Your Career sessions dedicated to upskilling artists and arts workers with disability or who are d/Deaf on generating Access Riders.

In these free online workshops, Michelle Teear will provide a practical overview of what an Access Rider is, how to write one, what to ask for and the kind of language to use. It will cover the rights of people with disability or who are d/Deaf, self-advocacy and negotiating reasonable adjustments.

Innovative Program for Disabled and Culturally Diverse Emerging Arts Leaders

We are excited to announce the eight successful applicants who will be undertaking paid internships as part of Ripple, the Disability and Culturally Diverse Internship Program led by Accessible Arts and run in partnership with Diversity Arts Australia and a range of arts, cultural and screen organisations across NSW and the ACT.

Congratulations to Phoebe Lupton, Cassandra Li, Monique Moate, Thuy Diem Mây Trần, Faye Chamberlain, Fi Peel, M. Sunflower and Marianthe Loucataris on being selected for a paid internship at a cultural organisation.

This unique visual art project enables professional artists with disability or who are d/Deaf to develop new works which will be screened at the the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia in celebration of International Day of People with Disability.

2026 Accessible Arts and Bundanon Artist in Residence Program

The 2023 Accessible Arts and Bundanon Trust Artist-In-Residence Program is now open to visual artists, writers and musicians with disability or who are d/Deaf from NSW and the ACT. Five artists will be funded to undertake a six night residency at the renowned Bundanon Trust estate from 16 – 22 October 2023.

The Bundanon Trust Artist-in-Residence program is the largest of its kind in Australia, making it highly sought after by artists nationally. These valuable residencies have been important stepping stones in the career development of many successful Australian artists with disability.

Thanks to everyone who joined us in person or online for our Access Ideas and Insights panel – The Future of Art.

This expert panel featured leading artists and technologists Thea-Mai Baumann, Louise Zhang and Amy Mills. They discussed the many exciting ways we might create and engage with art and explored how artists and organisations are innovating access and inclusion with new technology.
